At Blackwood, we pride ourselves in producing a healthy well rounded pup that will be the family babysitter, companion or an exceptional hunting dog. Our dogs live on 10 acres which gives them plenty of room to roam and have access to many lakes which allows them to grow in their natural environment. Puppies are extensively socialized, they love everyone and everything they come in contact with.
We are focusing on keeping the chesapeake a dual purpose dog. Our dogs spend numerous weekends a year in the show ring but when fall comes they spend those few short months doing what they were bred to do. Our pups are raised indoors under foot, we believe that way their humans are the most important thing to them. We also have neighborhood children come over to interact with them on a daily basis after they are six weeks old. Weather permitting they are also introduced to water, birds and gunfire. Pups are all personality tested to make sure they will fit into your individual lifestyle. We pride ourselves in producing a big, blocky headed, heavy boned yet laid back new addition to your family with an excellent fun loving attitude.
Blackwood offers puppies year round with excellent temperaments, gorgeous coats and correct conformation. Striving to produce the total chesapeake-my show dogs hunt and my hunting dogs win. All breeding stock OFA'd and routinely CERF'd. Pups leave with a 2 year guarantee, 1st shots, dewclaws removed and health clearance by my vet.
